Office Assistant – Marketing


This student assistant marketing position will be responsible for writing and editing projects in the Marketing and Communications unit within the Division of Continuing Studies. This employee will be responsible for writing, editing, and general administrative tasks, which include but are not limited to:
  • Drafting short summary descriptions, letters, invitations, executive summaries and similar documents
  • Reviewing texts and marketing documents to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Editing, formatting and publishing content for targeted audiences, ensuring that the content is appealing and creatively worded
  • Assisting with social media marketing strategies
Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this student assistant position will need the following qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and may have a background in Journalism, Communications, English, or related major area. Wordsmiths are preferred!
  • Available to work 10-15 hours per week during Spring 2014 and Summer 2014.
  • Adept at researching and synthesizing large amounts of content into simple and informative language
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with social media (Facebook, Blogging, Twitter, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Knowledge of WordPress and/or HTML is a plus
  • Basic graphic design skills is a plus
This position is a student hourly position, which offers flexible hours and a friendly, independent work environment. The position pays $8.50 per hour.
