WCCN Online Presence – Management Intern


The WCCN Online Presence Management Intern helps to further the mission of WCCN by providing high quality support in to WCCN staff in increasing WCCN’s online presence and the effectiveness of its marketing outreach efforts.
Primary Responsibilities: Social Media Management
  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating online ad campaigns through social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) as well as Google Adwords
  • Reaching out to potential WCCN supporters through Social Media and other online mediums to acquire more followers and e-news subscribers
  • Posting content on Social Media channels, based on WCCN’s content strategy Content Development
  • Writing and editing content for WCCN’s Grassroots Connections newsletter
  • Photographic content management and story development
  • Structuring WCCN’s website and other online tools to optimize SEO
  • Assisting in the design of data visualization tools, complex views, and other means to improve the look, feel, and user experience of WCCN’s website
  • Research, Analysis, and Strategic Development
  • Providing research support to WCCN staff regarding trends in SEO, Online Advertising, Social Media, and other online marketing avenues
  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data relating to funding and partnership opportunities for WCCN
  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data relating to WCCN’s online presence
  • Providing input on WCCN’s overall online strategy
  • Ideal Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or having recently acquired an associates, professional certificate, or bachelors degree in marketing, sales, graphic design, web design, business administration, or a related field. Graduate students preferred.
  • Experience using Mac OS platforms
  • Experience with website content management systems and administration, especially Drupal and WordPress, and other web design tools (css, html, java etc.)
  • Experience using Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Dreamweaver
  • Experience or training with designing and implementing social media strategy

This is a part-time, hourly (10-20 hours per week) unpaid position that operates during normal business hours during the Spring 2014 school semester. Actual hours within a regular schedule can be determined after hire and the internship can be extended to suit the intern’s needs. This work can be done for course credit. While some work can be done remotely, this position will be at least 50% onsite. This position reports to the Investor Relations Associate.
