Ben Barkin Scholarship 2014



Mueller Communications, Inc. (MCI) is offering a $1,000 scholarship and a paid internship during the summer of 2014. We are seeking Wisconsin's best and brightest students who have demonstrated an interest in learning more about the communications and public relations fields. Throughout the summer internship, the selected intern will have the opportunity to experience different aspects of the firm, such as marketing research, public affairs, media relations, crisis and corporate communications, community relations and business-to-business marketing.

MCI is a leading, full-service public relations agency located in Milwaukee. Our team of seasoned professionals has extensive experience addressing the research, communications, government and public affairs needs of clients at the local, regional and national levels.

Making Milwaukee Great
We want to hear why you think Milwaukee is great. To be considered for the 2014 Ben Barkin Scholarship Program, create an original entry piece that encompasses what you love about Milwaukee. Entry examples could include: short essay, photograph, poem, short video or Prezi. You don't have to write a novel or make a feature film: be creative and simply tell us why you think Milwaukee is awesome. Please attach a one-page cover letter that includes your name, why you would be a good addition to the Mueller team, project title and brief project description. 

Criteria 
To be considered for the 2014 Ben Barkin Scholarship Program, you must meet these requirements:
  • Enrolled as a full-time student
  • Entering senior year in fall of 2014
  • Must be enrolled in a Wisconsin college or university
  • Must be available to participate in the Mueller Communications internship program in Milwaukee full time during the summer of 2014

How to Apply

  2. The following items must be received via email or snail mail by January 31, 2014:
  • Making Milwaukee Great original entry piece
  • Single page cover letter that includes your name, why you would be a good addition to the Mueller team, and Making Milwaukee Great original entry piece title and brief project description
  • Resume
  • Optional: up to three letters of recommendation (one can be self-authored)

3.     Completed applications are due January 31, 2014.
