Position Summary:
Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kohl’s 10-week paid internship program gives you a first-hand look into the fast paced world of retail. The program will help you grow through training and development classes, senior level exposure, networking with associates, and a final project that will be presented to leaders throughout the organization. As a Web Merchandise Writing intern you will have the opportunity to assist the merchandise writing team in coordinating and developing content assets as needed for a variety of online message vehicles. This will involve managing relationships with the buying groups, the sample turn-in process for each catalog, competitive and vendor research, developing copy concepts and writing copy.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with design and production teams to develop a product copy for Kohls.com
  • Assist in the development of merchandise specific online content
  • Ensure that content is accurate and effective in communicating the desired message
  • Complete the internship with an understanding of common retail terms and the life-cycle of web products, product descriptions and product specific copy, features and events
  • Assist with managing all copy content related to merchandise on the E-Commerce website
  • Research and comparatively analyze products
  • Form relationships with multiple departments within Kohl’s
  • Develop a final project by researching a specific area or opportunity with E-Commerce and presenting it to members of your department in addition to senior leadership
