Susan Davis International - Internship


Susan Davis International is one of the nation’s premier communications and public affairs firms.  For more than 30 years, SDI has developed media and government relations campaigns for the U.S. and foreign governments, federal agencies, multinationals, cultural institutions and national landmarks, the entertainment industry, the sports world, non-profits, NGOs, and trade associations.  Practice areas include Stakeholder Communications, Relationship Building, Strategic Positioning and Branding, Publicity Campaigns, Public Affairs and Advocacy, Special Events, Crisis Management, Cause Marketing, Sponsorship and Philanthropy.

Susan Davis International is seeking candidates for internships for the spring semester.  Interns will gain work experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.  The intern must have an interest and background in the communications field.  S/he will be courteous and organized, with experience in time management.  The intern has to possess strong writing and computer skills.  Hours are flexible, but we ask that interns dedicate a minimum of two 8-hour days per week.  Position is unpaid but we offer a transportation stipend. Limited paid internships may be available.

Intern duties at SDI include:

  • Assist with writing press releases, captions, newsletters, ads and public service announcements.
  • Assist with developing marketing plans to promote upcoming performances and events.
  • Create and update media lists.
  • Place calls to media for follow-up on releases and pitches.
  • Investigate potential audiences, stakeholders, celebrity spokespeople, etc.
  • Assist events team during planning, set-up, and on event day.
  • Assist with specific client requests.
  • Print, mail, and deliver projects and materials to individual clients.
