Marketing Strategist


The Wisconsin Alumni Association® (WAA) is seeking a Marketing Strategist. The WAA Marketing Strategist collaborates with workplace teams to develop marketing plans and programs through the utilization of data. This position strategizes plans to achieve business goals, drive engagement/advancement, and promote the WAA brand.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leads process and development of marketing plans through the use of campaign assignment briefs and detailed tactical plans for each campaign and communication vehicle
  • Oversees, develops and implements marketing strategies through business analysis
  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative consumer data to identify trends and inform business decisions
  • Identifies project issues and develops insights into solutions
  • Pioneers modern “campaign development” and marketing communications strategies
  • Assists in successful design and implementation of the Advancing Badger Engagement Project (ABE), as needed

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or another related field
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, with increasing responsibility over time
  • Strong knowledge of marketing best practices, brand value, marketing strategies and tactics, including writing and developing marketing plans
  • Experience with social media
  • Proficiency with database systems
  • Experience with project management
  • Well-developed data analysis/interpretation skills
  • Experience marketing in or for a volunteer-based organization a plus
  • Knowledge of and passion for UW-Madison and higher education
