JOB INFORMATION
Job Summary:
This position is under the direction and supervision of the Director of Marketing and Development.  The Special Events/PR Intern will assist in event planning and execution, theme creation, communicating with sponsors, and publicity.
Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy in grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to principles of cultural diversity/cultural competence
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Advertising/PR education
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of Macintosh computer and word processing programs.
 Responsibilities:
  1. Theme development for annual fundraising event.
  2. Contact previous and potential sponsors for participation.
  3. Event planning and execution.
  4. Transport silent auction items and supplies as needed.
  5. Coordinate organization and community volunteer activities.
  6. Research and develop event planning website solutions.
  7. Other advertising and PR duties as assigned.
