The Morgridge Institute for Research benefits the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the citizens of Wisconsin by advancing breakthrough biomedical discoveries to solve important global health challenges and by educating the public about science. We do this as a private, nonprofit organization by developing and using high-impact computational, biological and physical research tools in collaborations with the university that benefit from our unique public-private partnership and organizational strengths.
At the Morgridge Institute our current research focuses on Regenerative Biology, Virology, Medical Devices and High Throughput Computation/Bioinformatics. The Morgridge Institute for Research is the private side of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, a public-private initiative that leverages the best features of a great public university with the flexibility and resources of an independent world-class private research institute. Our state-of-the-art facility, named Lab of the Year by R&D Magazine, not only houses research, but also includes extensive public spaces in our Town Center that welcomes all with food, interactive displays, ongoing activities, hands-on learning labs, events and meeting spaces.
