   Communications and Marketing Internship Opportunity

The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds (CIHM) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Communications and Marketing Intern. This intern will work closely with our team in the execution of CIHM’s strategic communications plan, social media content assistance, e-communications, event-specific communications tasks, and written projects, including communications for donor development support.
The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is seeking a student communications intern with the ability to work 15 to 20 hours per week. Students with the ability to work during the summer are preferred. Candidates who will commit to remain in the position for at least a year are preferred. General hours of operation are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
Who are we?
We are a rapidly growing research center funded exclusively by extramural sources that include a mix of federal, foundation and individual donors. The Center works in conjunction with the Davidson research Labs in the Waisman Center and the Department of Psychology. Our mission is to conduct rigorous interdisciplinary research on healthy qualities of mind such as kindness, compassion, forgiveness and mindfulness. Scientists at CIHM represent an integrated team with a broad array of research methodologies from behavioral to neuro-scientific. Research studies range from field studies with children to neuroimaging research of brain circuitry underlying individual differences in emotion regulation. Our goal is to cultivate healthy qualities of mind at the individual, community and global levels. Our guiding principles include living with integrity and practicing our values in everything we do.

Qualifications:
Prior experience in marketing-communications in a professional environment is required. Students in journalism, public relations, strategic communication, marketing or related fields preferred. The ideal candidate is an outstanding writer, detail-oriented, well-organized, highly productive, energetic, eager to learn and assist, possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exudes professionalism and courtesy in every encounter, can juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
