Social media: This intern will analyze engagement data, evaluate campaign performance and help to implement marketing strategies.
Marketing: The intern will market the theater to the student body and Madison community through a variety of appropriate and innovative methods
Social Media duties include:
•  Be responsible for regular, timely social media posts
•  Maintain social media tracking spreadsheets and project calendars
•  Generate monthly engagement reports
•  Conduct research on social media developments, products and software as needed
•   Make recommendations to Marketing Director for further campaign development
•   Maintain social media resource toolkit
•   Attend events to take photos and videos or conduct interviews
•   Concept, plan and execute campaign strategies
•   Place advertisements on Facebook
•   Create and maintain Facebook events for each show
•   Maintain theater’s Twitter account
 
 
Marketing duties include:
● Write blog and newsletter pieces and design the e-newsletter ● Serve as resource at informational tables ● Assist with advertising in local publications ● Place theater events on community and university calendars ● Add patrons to the mailing lists and compile email lists ● Schedule graphics projects ● Email relevant student organizations, professors and community groups about upcoming events ● Communicate professionally via email to Theater staff, agents, WUT employees, and Performing Arts Committee members Participate in evening-time Performing Arts committee meetings and report to Marketing Director
 
 
 Skills needed: Experience using Microsoft Office. Comfortable manipulating numbers. Excellent customer service and organizational skills, ability to think and work independently, and excellent judgment/problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge and/or interest in marketing with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc. Passion for Social Media, creativity and online communities and an eagerness to learn.
 
Experience in market research, statistics or social media measurement and optimization a plus.
 
Pay: $8.75/hr. 6-10 hours/week.
