Job Length: Summer 2013 with possibility of extension into 2013-14 academic year.

Work Schedule: Flexible, established around class schedule. Must be able to work 10-20 hours Monday-Friday between 8am and 5pm. Some evening and weekend hours may be required for project work such as special events, photo shoots, etc.

Job Duties: The intern will work closely with the Center for the First-Year Experience (CFYE) communications coordinator to brainstorm promotional ideas, connect with new students using social media, and evaluate and track campaigns and online initiatives. 

Duties include:

• Concept, plan, and execute social media campaign strategies
• Create rich content through writing, photography, videography, and editing
• Attend events to take photos and videos or conduct interviews
• Conduct research on social media developments, products, and software as needed
• Make recommendations to social media team for further campaign development
• Special projects as assigned

•  Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, knowledge and interest in journalism, marketing and/or promotions with a strong  attention to detail. Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Passion for social Media and online communities. Ability to think and work independently, and excellent judgment/problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity or experience with photography, videography, Tumblr, Wordpress, Adobe Creative Suite, or Final Cut Pro a plus.
