Description:
The Babcock Institute for International Dairy Research and Development is looking for a dependable, motivated student with excellent organizational skills to join our team. We need someone to help our staff members with daily tasks and program preparation. Your help will be needed to prepare for the Institute’s course and booth at World Dairy Expo as well as other events and for the maintenance of the Institutes international publication sales.
Requirements:
- Approx. 10 hours/week during school semesters
- Availability up to 40 hours/week during summer
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficient typing skills, good organizational skills
Duties:
- Assisting the staff of the Babcock Institute with the planning and logistics of domestic and international dairy training programs
- Preparing visitor packets, speaker handouts, nametags, etc.
- Ordering meals, reserving conference rooms, hotel rooms, bus transportation, etc.
- Escorting international visitors both on and off campus
- Creating/Updating brochures, program materials, displays and posters
- Preparing publications for international and domestic shipping
- Maintaining mailing lists and inventory of publications
- Duplicating publications
- Corresponding via e-mail and telephone with customers, officials, professors, etc.
Web skills and knowledge of QuickBooks would be a plus, but not required--training will be provided. Other duties as assigned.

A passion for topics surrounding the international dairy industry would make your job more rewarding. You must be a UW student to qualify for this job.
