Description: The UW-Madison Biochemistry Department has an excellent resume building opportunity for a talented Web Developer and Designer. We are seeking a part-time student employee to help prototype, design and develop our new web platform.
We are looking for Drupal Guru to help achieve key departmental goals as part of the development process. As we envision it, the final product will be a heavily integrated Drupal multi-site environment utilizing the current departmental LDAP system to support authentication and authorization. At this time the department is utilizing a wide array of products including a custom CMS, Joomla, Wordpress, etc. and our goal is to develop a next-generation foundation that will allow us to migrate all of these sites to one, secure, stable environment.
Qualified candidates will have demonstrable experience with Drupal administration and theming. They also will have knowledge of HTML, CSS and other web technologies.
Ideal candidates will be able to provide a portfolio of previous web based development and design work. Ability to maintain focus, project management and work independently will also be necessary.
This will be a project based position. Continuation of the project will be dependent on achieving demonstrable progress and goals. This position will have direct access to both Biochemistry IT and Media Lab resources and support.
All applicants must be currently enrolled students of an accredited college or university. While hours are flexible, applicants will be expected to have available hours between 7 AM and 4 PM. To apply, please email a cover letter, resume and schedule of available hours to kwtobin@wisc.edu.
