The Office of Admissions and Recruitment seeks a talented student to be our part-time Social Media and Marketing Coordinator. Your work will be both meaningful and highly visible to campus. Over 100,000 prospective students will read your updates and emails.Our goal is to educate prospective students and families about the admissions process, and highlight what happens on campus through social media, email, print publications, and video. We need a talented story-teller who is passionate about UW-Madison and who can communicate effectively.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in engaging audiences online with a deep understanding of social media. Responsibilities include implementing our weekly campaigns and monitoring posts and comments. You will also coauthor articles for our website, emails, and develop material for print.
Experience in photography or videography, editing, and audio work is highly desired. The ideal candidate will have a knack for visual storytelling. A preferred candidate will know basic video editing with pro grams such as Adobe Premiere.
You will work directly with the Recruitment and Media Services Manager. Candidate must be a current student at UW-Madison in good academic standing, who is either studying or has a strong interest in: art, business, communication arts, design, digital media, marketing, public relations, journalism, or writing.

This position is hourly, in-office Monday through Friday, throughout the semester with possibility of working fulltime during the summer. 15-20 hours a week is expected and varies depending on need. Flexibility to attend and report on events occurring during the daytime and some evenings required.

We will provide a quiet office workspace with your choice of Mac or PC running the Adobe CS6 Master Collection. You will be expetced to use this software suite along with our video camera, tripod and still photography camera. Additional free training through DoIT will be encouraged to strengthen skill areas as needed.
You must also have strong knowledge of how social media sites function and be prepared to monitor and post updates throughout the week and on the weekend.
