The Center for the First-Year Experience (CFYE) invites undergraduate applicants to serve as the SOAR Advising and Logistics intern in our office. Serving in this leadership position will reward you with experiences and skills that will enhance your career and personal development. This position plays a critical role in the success of the SOAR program and is selected based on a student's leadership potential, communication skills, and commitment to first year students.

The position is primary responsible for assisting academic advisors and peer advisors at SOAR, although other duties may be assigned.  This is an excellent way to have a behind the scenes impact on the SOAR program. During the school year you will meet regularly with the Coordinator of Orientation Advising and Operations and the SOAR Advising Committee to assist in the development of the SOAR advising program.  You will also assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of Orientation Assistants (OA’s). During SOAR you will staff and provide leadership for the SOAR Advising Office, and will not be involved with the SOAR student or parent/guest program.  Within the SOAR Advising Office, you will help solve problems related to enrollment and academic advising. You will work with the academic advisors to create a positive advising experience for all students. In this position you will also serve on applicable committees and assist in the development of the SOAR program as needed.  This position does not work directly with students but provides support to academic staff

Fall and Spring Hours vary and are flexible. Summer employment is 40 hrs per week.
