Description: 10-15 hrs/wk. Work is off campus at 6602 University Ave, Middleton. Parking is free. The Survey of the Health of Wisconsin (SHOW), a public health research project out of the School of Medicine and Public Health, is accepting applications for a communications student hourly to assist with community outreach, logistical and promotional efforts. Duties: Community Awareness: Research neighborhoods throughout Wisconsin to create a database of contacts. Connect with organizations & leaders throughout the state via mail and e-mail. Produce mailings to selected households for survey. Press: Distribute PSAs and track their usage; collect media coverage and keep database of same. Social media: Maintain and grow SHOW's presence on Website, Facebook, Twitter. Requirements: Currently a student; Reliable transportation to Middleton; Exellent written and oral communication skills; Strong planning and organizational skills; Working knowledge of MS Office applications - Word, Excel, Access; Experience with social media; Design capabilities a plus.
