If you love music and your idea of work is meeting new people and traveling all over the Chicago area, we want to hear from you! K-HITS will give you the chance to learn the inner workings of a large market radio station while providing exposure to the promotions, programming, and sales departments. Duties | Responsibilities include assisting management in the execution of various promotions including station broadcasts, remotes, appearances, festivals, concerts, movie screenings and more. It involves daily interaction with our listeners, coworkers, and clients. You will be one of the smiling faces that represent Chicago’s greatest radio station on the streets (The New 104.3 K-HITS!). Interning at K-HITS will give you a chance to interact with several radio personalities well known to Chicago including Eddie and Jobo, Gary Spears, Bo Reynolds and George McFly! This position will also include various clerical works in the office, such as answering phones and checking e-mails, prize fulfillment and database management, research projects, helping with our online content, blogging, utilizing our social media pages and much more. We require that you work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. You get to earn college credit while making new connections and jamming out to K-HITS all the time, what could be better? Qualifications | • Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled at a college or university. • Must be able to receive college credit for internship; and provide proof of class registration. • Commit to at least 20 hours a week at the station; including evenings, weekends, holidays and must commit for a minimum of 10 to 12 weeks. • Must not be an employee or intern at any other station while doing an internship at WJMK-FM/K-HITS; college stations exempt. |
