Interested in building a new online student news initiative at UW-Madison?
University Communications, the central public information office for UW-Madison, is looking for a talented student to serve as an online editor for an upcoming project.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience creating and/or editing a print or online publication, strong organizational skills and a desire to find and develop content that will be compelling, useful and engaging to his or her fellow students.
In addition to some writing and copyediting duties, the editor will be expected to keep in touch with student-related developments via social media, blogs and in the local media.
Eligible applicants are limited to undergraduates or graduate students enrolled at UW-Madison. The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism, English, public relations, strategic communications or a related field. Summer 2012 hours are a requirement. The role will continue through spring of 2013.

The position requires an ability to work with limited supervision, proven editing and writing experience, familiarity with AP style, the Macintosh platform, Microsoft Word, WordPress and WiscList, along with Twitter and Facebook.
