Job Overview
The Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA), an international non-profit organization located in downtown Madison, seeks a part-time PR/Marketing/Events Intern.
Job Description
PCNA is seeking one student to join our staff for 15-20 hours/week for a unique internship at an international health care association. This position will report to the Public Relations/Marketing Manager and be responsible for assisting with marketing and public relations for PCNA, as well as supporting event planning and promotion of PCNA initiatives.
Projects may include:
  • Copywriting assistance for marketing materials, print and online publications, and other projects
  • Marketing and member research
  • Assisting with the organization’s media relations outreach, including writing and distributing press releases, media list development and media monitoring
  • Online marketing activities, such as website updates, search engine optimization and email marketing campaigns
  • Assistance with marketing of PCNA patient education materials and local cardiovascular programs for health care professionals
  • Assistance with social media campaign execution and measurement
  • Assistance with the production of the PCNA Annual Symposium, including marketing, customer service and logistics
  • General office administration assistance
  • Participation in occasional staff meetings
Job Qualifications
  • Progress towards a bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or similar (3rd, 4th, or 5th year preferred) 
  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required
  • A passion for a successful career in non-profit, public relations, marketing and/or event planning
  • Works well with details in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a knowledge of AP Style (samples required)
  • Pro-active, self-starter who is willing to take initiative
Compensation & Benefits
This position will earn $10.00/hour. One reserved parking spot is also included. This internship can also be structured for college credit.
