Dates of Employment-Beginning January 2013. Negotiable based on employee interest.
Compensation-$9.40-$10/hour, based on qualifications, work study required.
Hours of Work- Part-time (15-20 hours/week) Schedule is flexible based upon student availability. Office-based work must be completed during business hours.
Responsibilities: Assist in writing articles for monthly newsletter, stories, blog posts, tweets, and other promotional materials related to the projects and activities occurring on the Compact’s member campuses. Edit and distribute monthly electronic newsletter. Assist the WiCC staff with updates to organizational databases. Assist in the planning of network gatherings, meetings and conferences including securing locations, coordinating event logistics, assisting with outreach and promotion, and preparing event materials. Occasional project work related to planning and staffing special events.
Reports To-WiCC Executive Director
Qualifications: Possess excellent communication skills, especially writing and proofreading. Familiarity with principles of marketing, public relations, and community engagement. Hands-on experience using Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher); and WordPress. Hands-on experience using graphic design software - preferably Adobe InDesign & Illustrator (preferred but not required). Experience using social media web sites. Demonstrated ability to work independently with deadlines.
