Position Overview: As a User Experience Researcher for our mobile, you will play an active role in designing and conducting user research studies across the product cycle, from the concept phase to post-launch evaluation. You will be an advocate for users and user experience research within Android.
Requirements: You are skilled in a range of research methods, with experience conducting research to understand user needs, motivations and behaviors. You have to turn research findings into actionable user centered design and product goals. You excel at identifying system drawbacks and coming up with solutions. You communicate your findings in a clear and impactful way, and can work well in cross-functional teams. You are flexible and able to adapt to Android's fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
· Participate in strategic planning and marketing research.
· Design and conduct early stage design and product definition activities, including ethnographic research, interviews, personas, design principles, workshops
· Design and conduct user research studies, including lab-based usability studies, and usability inspections (heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs).
· Effectively communicate research insights.
· Drive user centered product definition and iteration.
 
Preferred Qualifications
· Junior and senior students, prefer MA in communication or MBA concentrate in marketing communication
· Excellent analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior.
· Strong oral and written communication skills; can present findings concisely and effectively.
· Experience with the following: design, product design, app technology and standards, accessibility and universal design, internationalization and localization.

Communications Internship

Employer: The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds at the Waisman Center, UW-Madison

The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is seeking a student communications intern with the ability to work up to 15 hours per week for the Spring 2013 semester, Summer 2013 and beyond. Students with the ability to work during the summer are preferred. Candidates who will commit to remain in the position for at least a year are preferred. General hours of operation are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

This position will provide communications support to the Director of Marketing and Communications at the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds at The Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Duties to include: writing, content development, media list development, correspondence with the public, research and organizational tasks, event marketing support and more.   

Qualifications:
Prior experience in marketing-communications in a professional environment is required. Students in journalism, public relations, strategic communication, marketing or related fields preferred. The ideal candidate is an outstanding writer, detail-oriented, well-organized, highly productive, energetic, eager to learn and assist, possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exudes professionalism and courtesy in every encounter, can juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with standard office software, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.

Principal duties to include:
  • Writing for the Website, e-newsletters, Facebook, Twitter and other channels
  • Research and analysis in support of marketing-communications projects

Monday, February 18th:  Vince Camuto has launched their second Spring contest, Interview Style 101. The contest will offer students the opportunity of a lifetime—a paid internship at Vince Camuto in New York City.

Hours of Work-  Part-time (15-20 hours/week) Schedule is flexible based upon student availability. Office-based work must be completed during business hours.
Responsibilities:  Assist in writing articles for monthly newsletter, stories, blog posts, tweets, and other promotional materials related to the projects and activities occurring on the Compact’s member campuses.  Edit and distribute monthly electronic newsletter.  Assist the WiCC staff with updates to organizational databases.  Assist in the planning of network gatherings, meetings and conferences including securing locations, coordinating event logistics, assisting with outreach and promotion, and preparing event materials.  Occasional project work related to planning and staffing special events.
Reports To-WiCC Executive Director
Qualifications:  Possess excellent communication skills, especially writing and proofreading.  Familiarity with principles of marketing, public relations, and community engagement.  Hands-on experience using Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher); and WordPress.  Hands-on experience using graphic design software - preferably Adobe InDesign & Illustrator (preferred but not required).  Experience using social media web sites. Demonstrated ability to work independently with deadlines.
Enthusiasm for the benefits of civic engagement & experiential learning in higher education to better communities, create sustainable partnerships and improve learning outcomes.
